1981 Suzuki GS750E.   The E models were the hot rod 750’s.   Suzuki’s older 8 valve 750cc engine was upgraded on the E bikes in 1980 to the TSCC engine with 16 valves, and the difference is quite impressive.   The E model has 9.4:1 compression putting out 80 hp at 9200 rpm and 47 ft/lbs torque.  Not too shabby for a 750cc bike in 1980.   The E is about 12 miles /hr faster at top speed and a much quicker revving bike than the other GS750 models like the L and the T.  

 

The particular bike is in good running condition, and only has 4079 miles on it since new.  We gave it a fresh oil & filter change, and a brand new set of IRC top-quality Japanese tires.  The bike looks good overall, but its not perfect.  The top of the gas tank has some odd rust spots spidering under the paint,  but we think it gives the bike a little character and shows that its a 45 year old bike and not brand new.
